Exercise Bands for Home Exercise:
resistance you can take home

Exercise bands are elastic latex or latex-free strips for your home program, color-coded by strength. They supply light resistance that builds muscle as you heal, no heavy weights required.

Your physician orders this equipment, and we fit it to you before you go home.

What is exercise bands?

Elastic strips, latex or latex-free, for your home program. Each color marks a different strength.

What it does for you

They let you add resistance in small steps, so muscle builds while tissue heals.

Its role around regenerative treatment

Graded loading means adding force a little at a time. Moving up one band color is one of the simplest ways to do that once your physician says the treated area is ready.

The right fit and feel

Constant tension across the whole range. Stretch it slowly, release it slowly, and keep control so it never flies back.

Daily use and upkeep

Trap the band in a shut door near the hinges, or pin it under a foot. Before every session, run it through your fingers looking for tiny tears or tacky patches, and throw out a damaged one. Keep it away from sun and heat.

Reasons to phone the clinic

  • A latex allergy (you get a latex-free band instead)
  • Skin that itches, breaks out or welts up where the band touches

Fitting happens here: we size the item, you practice wearing and removing it while we watch, and printed steps go home with you. Phone (314) 295-3000 if it hurts, fits poorly or breaks.

How long you use it

Bands are used only on the exercises your physician ticked.

What to remember

  1. Slow stretch, slow release.
  2. Finger-check it for tears each session.
  3. Door anchor goes near the hinges.

Show us you have it: Before you go, run one band exercise for us before heading out. If a point is fuzzy, say so and we walk through it again with you.
