Hinged Knee Brace:

A hinged knee brace uses rigid uprights along both sides of the knee, hinged at the joint, fitted on your leg with the hinge stops set per your physician. It steadies an injured knee and limits its bend while tissue mends, so the knee holds on stairs and uneven ground.

The right fit and feel
Snug straps and solid support. Every time it goes on, the hinges should line up with the center of the knee.
Daily use and upkeep
Cinch each strap snug but not tight, leaving room for two fingers. Hands off the hinge dials. Inspect your skin daily, and clean the brace with a wet cloth.
